Of all the social networking sites, LinkedIn is as of yet the least explored, and people think this is the next big thing on the web. For a professional individual as much for new brands its a place you must be at. But just as other social networking sites, LinkedIn too is so crowded that it is difficult to stand out here.
Good thing that it’s not something impossible to do and one can definitely grab attention if only one follows a couple of tips and tricks. Here we will be discussing some of those:
Profesional Looking Profile Picture
For individuals on LinkedIn, the best way to stand out is to make an excellent profile, and for that, you will need to start with the picture. Your picture should look professional and should be of HD quality so that people can have a good look at you.
Additionally, you can add a header image of you giving some sort of dialogue to an audience. Use a picture that will add you your credibility as a professional. Avoid using nature and animal pictures.
Claim You URL
If you haven’t done this already ist about time you do it. Get rid of the numbers in your profile URL and get yourself a URL where you have your name in it. What it does is gives you are personal URL and also adds to your credibility.
This is something you will absolutely need to do and something that you cannot avoid no matter what. Claiming your URL is one of the first steps to make you seem like a professional person to make sure you do it if you want to be taken seriously.
Add Achievement-Driven Experiences
No matter where you have worked, you must list it all out on your linkedin profile and make sure you list out the things that you have learned in those companies. Mention how fast you were promoted and mention the extra works that you have shouldered.
Mention your greatest achievement in the companies. And if there are people to endorse you then it’s better because it will add you your professional credibility. Make sure all your experiences listed are achievement-driven.
Write Great Summary
This is probably very hard but not impossible. The trick is to keep it sort and simple but you will need to list out all your strength. Make it look professional and make sure that it stands out. Importance must be placed on the first line. You can start with a question or whatever attractive statement that you think is appropriate. Show it to someone else, ask for feedback and make changes as necessary.
Add As Many Contacts As Possible
Make sure that people can reach out to you if they require. Add at least two email addresses and two phone numbers. Make sure you visit the profile enough times so that you don’t miss out if someone has been trying to reach out to your via messages on LinkedIn. And also be sure that reach out to them and thank them for contacting you and try to help them with their queries.
