LinkedIn Endorsements, a feature that helps your connection to stamp and approve your skills and qualifications for last two years. Since then they have proved to be useful and despite many confusions and queries they have skyrocketed their growth through these years. This year, Endorsements and their partner, recommendations witnessed a few changes. Now users have numerous ways to manage their skills, endorsements and recommendations which the professional social networking platform announced recently.
Recommendations and endorsements are a sort of third party validation and often considered to be an incredible way of saying that you or some other professional is skilled at particular point or management. They might be from people with whom you have worked with or with whom you are currently working with. Here are few easy tips to manage your recommendations:
Change The Order Of Endorsements
LinkedIn enables you to rank your skills based upon the number of endorsements you have received. This is clear indicator that your top skills might not be the most important ones like you had thought till now. LinkedIn recently has added this ability to rearrange the skills as well as endorsements. To access the same click on Edit Profile under the profile heading and then scroll the skills section and click Edit. Make sure you are in Add and Remove view. You can click and drag skills and reorder them, and click on Save.
LinkedIn newest feature, recommendation management page gives you a glace of your former rankings, positions and recommendations that have been associated with them. The recommendation page has four tabs:
- Received tab shows the recommendations that have been given to you
- The Given tab lets you manage and see the recommendation you gave to others
- Ask for Recommendation tab to solicit recommendations from someone in your group or network
- Give recommendation to revert to the pending requests of recommendations from others
Experts say that you must highlight those recommendations that showcase and reflect you as professionals. If you want a visitor or onlooker to watch some specific skills that make sure you stand out then prioritizing recommendations that include those skills is like putting the best foot forward.
Delete Endorsement Categories
To remove the endorsement categories from your endorsement page, you need navigate the main menu, Select Edit Profile under the profile heading. Scroll the pointer to skills section and click Edit. Here you will find all the endorsements and to delete a particular category, click the cross (X) next to it. This will remove the endorsements and recommendations from that page.
Remove Individual Endorsements
If you have received an endorsement from some connection that you think is not qualified to vouch for those particular skills, you can easily remove those connections and endorsements. For instance, a project management endorsement if received from an existing colleague is always more valuable than an endorsement from your high school friend and there it is best to add appropriate skills to your profile. Even if you buy Endorsements on LinkedIn then make sure they are aligned to the best skills and interest.
